Exercises — Lap Steel
Daily drills generated from the lap steel — hear each one, then play it even.
Short, repeatable drills with tab and playback, generated from the Lap Steel's own open strings: an evenness drill for the picking hand, the major chord three adjacent open strings already spell carried by a straight bar to the IV, the V and the octave, and a major scale up one string with the bar landing over each wire. Nothing here is transcribed — each drill is computed from this instrument's open pitches.
Play them to a slow click and listen for the bar, not the picks: a bar a hair off the marker sounds out of tune on every string it covers at once.
