Progressions in C — E9 Pedal Steel

Every chord the key of C owns, placed on the E9 neck's ten strings.

C major harmonises to C – Dm – Em – F – G – Am – B°; C minor to Cm – D° – Eb – Fm – Gm – Ab – Bb. Each chord links to its E9 Pedal Steel page, so a key becomes a short list of places for the bar.

On a pedal steel the chords of a key are rarely far apart: the bar stays put wherever it can while a pedal or knee lever turns one chord into the next. Under each workhorse progression every change is drawn that way — the bar position, which pedals and levers go down or come up, both charts, and a Hear button that bends the ringing strings into the next chord.
