Progressions in Ab — Lap Steel

Every chord the key of Ab owns, placed on the lap steel's six strings in C6.

Ab major harmonises to Ab – Bbm – Cm – Db – Eb – Fm – G°; G# minor to G#m – A#° – B – C#m – D#m – E – F#. Each chord links to its Lap Steel page, so a key becomes a short list of places for the bar.

On a lap steel the chords of a key are fret distances: the tuning spells one chord open, and every other chord in the key is somewhere the bar can slide to — or a slant, or not there at all.
