Progressions in G — Lap Steel

Every chord the key of G owns, placed on the lap steel's six strings in C6.

G major harmonises to G – Am – Bm – C – D – Em – F#°; G minor to Gm – A° – Bb – Cm – Dm – Eb – F. Each chord links to its Lap Steel page, so a key becomes a short list of places for the bar.

On a lap steel the chords of a key are fret distances: the tuning spells one chord open, and every other chord in the key is somewhere the bar can slide to — or a slant, or not there at all.
