Progressions in D — Lap Steel

Every chord the key of D owns, placed on the lap steel's six strings in C6.

D major harmonises to D – Em – F#m – G – A – Bm – C#°; D minor to Dm – E° – F – Gm – Am – Bb – C. Each chord links to its Lap Steel page, so a key becomes a short list of places for the bar.

On a lap steel the chords of a key are fret distances: the tuning spells one chord open, and every other chord in the key is somewhere the bar can slide to — or a slant, or not there at all.
